An update from our partners with PBT Ukraine...

...with an emphasis on our very own Roma translation team. Thank you for helping make this happen!      God bless, Matt

Greetings to you dear brothers and sisters – partners of PBU!

We are happy to inform you about what was going on in February. We had a lot of events. We are grateful for your prayers about us!

Mission Presentations

Last month PBU staff visited churches in Dnipro, Poltava and Reshetilovka, introducing the ministry of Bible Translators of Ukraine. We had over 450 brothers and sisters who have heard about our mission through different meetings with youth, church leaders and church services. And we thank God for we were welcomed during those meetings.

Bible Translators conference

February 12-14 we had our quarterly meeting for the Roma languages translators. We had teachers – Shwed Eugeniy and Brad Willits who taught the Theological Editing course on Luke.

The Bible Translation is not the easy work. Translators have to be well qualified in computer programs such as “Paratext” for example, which helps to translate effectively and correctly every Bible text. Translators have to be very attentive with each word, sign, make several translations (underline, back, theological and so on). They do all this work to give a chance the Roma people to receive Bible on their own language.

Please, pray for the process of the theological editing of Luke which was translated into four Roma languages.

After long hours of study, the Paratext program finally became understandable.

Уveryone worked even in the evenings. Everybody wanted to know as much as possible.

All tired, but satisfied with the work done.

During that meeting Chuck and Linda taught how to work with the computer program which helps to do translation of the Bible scripts for the “Jesus” film.

Tamila's Testimony.png

Tamila’s testimony

For many years she is constantly and faithfully praying for the revival among Roma people.
The Christmas gift she received was a great blessing for her. God is merciful and good!

“I saved some money to go and visit the doctor, for I was sick. But then the sister came for a visit. She is retired and her son needed an urgent surgery, but did not have money for that. So I gave her all money I saved for myself hoping that God will take care about it. But the time was going on and I spent all of my money and did not have money even for a loaf of bread. So I started to pray hard and at that moment God sent me help. I’ve got a call from Burlutskiy Nickolay who had a Christmas food package for me. It was enough food for the rest of the month. I’m thankful to the Lord for the generous hearts of brothers and sisters. God bless you for your merciful hearts!”

Please, pray for:
- MTMC conference in April 16-19 in Kyiv
- Theological editing of Luke
- Preparation for the translation work of “Jesus” film
- Roma calendars for 2019
- New brothers and sisters who are willing to join the PBU mission
- Preparation of the Ukrainian team for the work in the mission field
