CMY UPDATE: July 27, 2019

Friends and Family of CMY,

I believe that Jesus Christ's life, death and resurrection is the greatest testimony of God's love for all people. Jesus's willingness to give up eternity to live a temporary life on earth and without sin. He gave His life and showed His faith in God, doing so God testifies His power over death through Christ's resurrection.

This past week I was reminded of how ones life and death is still a powerful testimony to the world. Antonio Chuc lost his mother over the weekend and in all the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one, God is glorified by the witness of His people that show to the world around them the hope and joy that is a part of the Christian's life. We do not live not knowing but have confidence in the testimony of Jesus Christ in what God is doing for our eternity.

Tony and Liz have had a very exhausting month, two weeks of hospital visits while they waited the outcome of Tony's mother (Teresa de Jesus Chan Cuxim de Chuc) stroke that had left her unresponsive and with little hope.  Then this past week as they have hosted friends and family during his mother's funeral and then after assisting his father with all the paper work and cleaning of the house.

As Tony and I talked during this time, he talked about how he found strength to speak during the visitation service on Sunday night.  I agreed with him with my observations in my own life that I found the same strength during my mother's funeral (2006) but now how I found that it was harder for me to do funerals for close friends.  We both thought it was because with your own mothers funeral we are given inner strength by God to lift us up to the task knowing that it is our pain. While for a friend's funeral we feel the pain of those close to that person and we hurt for them, wanting to help them and give courage.

God's people see the victory and hope but we also relate to the pain of loss that those around us feel.  I thank so many of you for your prayers and support for CMY and those serving God here in the Yucatán.  May the peace of God be upon Antonio and Liz's family at this time and may it also be upon each one of you as we share all God's blessings in Christian love.  God Bless

A word of congratulations to our good friends Phil and Dale Weldy.  They hosted their fourth daughters wedding earlier this summer, so I sniffed the sweet rose of success by this Godly man.   Also a word of thanks as Phil's parents(both have passed) and them have been a huge encouragement to CMY over the years.

By prayers, support, visiting the Yucatan, bringing a group and blessings through their use of Weldy's Sales and Service, their faith has been a testimony for Christ to all who know them. https://weldysales.stihldealer.net/

We were not able to assist the church in Campeche the past week with a VBS and Revival.  The church felt they needed to wait a year due to some complications that arose over a year ago.  As they invited families and neighbors they found that the issue was still too fresh in many of the families minds that would have hindered them from attending the VBS/Revival.

Please pray for the brethren in Campeche as they establish a strong witness for Christ in their community.

Remember God has planted the seed and caused the rain to fall, are we ready to enjoy the harvest. Thank you all so much for your continued blessings and prayers for CMY. Summer months are generally slow giving months, your gifts are needed now more than ever as we labor together for the Lord.
